Chyasal Youth Club have partnered with sportswear company UCAN as its kit sponsor for Martyrs Memorial 'A' Division League set to begin from November 15 in Kathmandu.
UCAN will provide required sports kits through the season to the club while Chyasal will use UCAN sports gear in all official tournaments they play throughout the year.
Ramesh Byanjankar, the club president, and Rajen Maharjan, the managing director of CTL Company Pvt Ltd, the authorised seller and distributor of the UCAN gears in Nepal, inked the kit sponsor deal.
The company on Saturday had signed a similar agreement with another 'A' division outfit Friends Club. According to Maharjan, the company had been previously sponsoring football teams through another brand Li-Ning.
Chyasal had wrapped up the last edition of the 'A' Division League in eighth position, 16 points adrift of champions Machhindra FC.
Meanwhile, the club also signed former national football team captain Biraj Maharjan for the season. Defender Maharjan will also wear the captain's armband in the Chyasal jersey. The 31-year-old announced his international retirement from the national team during Nepal's title celebration of the Three-Nations Cup in March.
"I joined Chyasal because of the good football environment in the club. I admire the club’s vision and hope to make an impact to help achieve its goal," said Maharjan, who led Machhindra Club and Manang Machhindra Club to titles in the past.
Chyasal also nominated Scottish national Leigh Manson as their technical director. The 54-year-old had been in various coaching roles for more than two decades. The club is yet to announce their coach.
