Dangol takes five wickets without conceding a run

Khushi Dangol of Province 3 on Thursday returned unbelievable figures picking up five wickets without conceding a run in her team’s 90-run crushing of Karnali Province in the Prime Minister Cup Women’s Twenty20 National cricket tournament.
After Province 3 amassed 156-3 in 20 overs following a collective batting effort, Karnali innings was already in tatters at 50-4 in 8.4 overs. Dangol stepped in and bowled just nine deliveries after she was introduced in the 14th over as Karnali lost their last six wickets for just 16 runs to be out for 66 in 15.3 overs.
Dangol, however, missed a hat-trick in what is so far the best bowling in domestic Twenty20 cricket. She began by removing set batswoman Laxmi Rimal who made a 43-ball 11 before being trapped leg before. After a dot, Dangol got rid of Kamala Gharti Magar and Laxmi Puri in consecutive deliveries. She returned in the 15th over and polished off the tail picking up two more wickets.
Rabina Chaudhary top scored for Karnali with an 11-ball 22 hitting five boundaries. Suman Khatiwada also took two wickets for Province 3. Karnali went on to lose their second consecutive match of the tournament and now stare league stage elimination.
Earlier, Asmita Kharel and Kanchan Shrestha gave a desired start for Province 3 adding 65 runs for the first wicket. Both batswomen scored 28 runs each. After Shrestha’s departure, Asmina Karmacharya took the charge and got involved in two big partnerships steering her side to an imposing total. Karmacharya added 40 runs for the second wicket with Kharel and 42 for the
third with Khatiwada. Karmacharya was unbeaten on a 36-ball 47 and Khatiwada chipped in 10-ball 21. Dangol was adjudged the player-of-the-match.
In the day’s second match, Nepal Armed Police Force Club coasted to a 10-wicket win over Sudurpaschim Province. Openers Sita Rana Magar and Jyoti Pandey completed the chase in just 11 overs after being set 91 runs to win. Skipper Rana Magar struck an explosive 51, her 35-ball knock included eight hits to the fence. Pandey made 31-ball 28 with three boundaries.
Earlier, Sudurpaschim battled to a below-par 90-9 in their allotted 20 overs. Kabita Joshi top scored with a fluent 29 off 24 balls with four fours and the only six of the match. Rewati Dhami chipped in with 19 off 20 deliveries as no other Sudurpaschim batswomen were able to score in double figures. Rana Magar and Sarita Magar claimed two wickets each while Ritu Kanojiya and Karuna Bhandari took one wicket apiece for APF.
