Rijal’s 94 sinks Makwanpur

Former U-19 skipper Raju Rijal struck a magnificent unbeaten 94 as Dhangadhi Cricket Academy (DCA) defeated Makwanpur Cricket Club by five wickets in the 16th Mayor’s Chitwan Championship Trophy Twenty20 here on Saturday.
Electing to bat first in a high-scoring match, Ramnaresh Giri’s half century lifted Makwanpur to 160-6 in 20 overs. Rijal led a perfect reply for DCA smashing a 55-ball 94 as they reached the target in 19.2 overs. Man-of-the-match Rijal hit 12 boundaries and three sixes. Earlier, Giri hit a 43-ball 70 that included five fours and four sixes.
In the second match, Kalaiya Cricket Club overcame Bharatpur Cricket Club by 28 runs. Kalaiya made 132-7 with Trit Raj Das doing the majority of scoring with a 44-ball 53 not out. He hit five fours and a six. Aashish Lamsal picked up three wickets for Bharatpur.
Bharatpur kept losing wickets before getting bundled out for just 104 runs in 18.5 overs. Kush Gurung top scored for them with 24 runs before running himself out.
