According to the organisers Dharan Football Club (DFC), all the preparation for the eight-day knockout tournament was over. Martyrs Memorial ‘A’ Division League champions Manang Marshyangdi Club, Dauphins Club of Cameroon, Nepal Police Club, Sahara Club of Pokhara, Dalhousie Athletic Club of India and hosts DFC are the other participating teams.
The winners will receive Rs 800,000 and the runners-up will take home Rs 400,000. The best player of the tournament will be rewarded with a scooter and one spectator will also get a two-wheeler through a lucky draw. While the highest scorer will be rewarded with a scooter, the best players in four different positions will get Rs 25,000 each. Man-of-the-match in each game will earn Rs 15,000 and the emerging player of DFC will get
Rs 15,000.
DFC President Kishor Rai said the expected cost of the tournament is Rs 7 million and the club was hoping to raise at least Rs 9 million. “We are planning to save Rs 2 million with the view of upgrading Dharan Stadium.”
