Dahal, Maharjan enter finals of President Cup Junior International Badminton Championships
Nepal’s U-15 top seed Prince Dahal and Rashila Maharjan maintained their dominance in the President Cup Junior International Badminton Championships entering multiples finals on Thursday.

Nepal’s U-15 top seed Prince Dahal and Rashila Maharjan maintained their dominance in the President Cup Junior International Badminton Championships entering multiples finals on Thursday.
While Dahal made it to the U-19 and U-15 singles finals, Maharjan entered the U-19 singles and doubles as well as U-15 singles finals. Dahal defeated Rukesh Maharjan 21-13, 21-17 in the U-19 singles semi-finals and thumped Himal Chand 21-6, 21-2 in the U-15 last four game.
Maharjan dispatched Ranjana Bhatta 21-9, 21-12 to book the U-19 singles title clash with Jessica Gurung who beat Sima Rajbanshi 21-12, 21-6. In the U-15 singles semi-finals, Maharjan saw off Rose Pandey 21-7, 21-5 and combined with Gurung to enter into U-19 doubles final following walkover win.
In another U-19 semi-finals, Praful Maharjan eased past Pabin Lingthep 21-11, 21-11 to set up Dahal clash. The U-15 women’s event saw Bishna Bista retiring hurt from the semi-final while leading first set 5-3. In the U-15 singles, Myanmar’s Ja Lin Thu routed Nepal’s Roshan Saud 21-4, 21-15 to get Dahal.
In the U-19 girls’ doubles, Sima Rajbanshi and Nita Lamsal overcome Ranjana Bhatta and Rose Pandey 21-13, 21-13. In the U-19 boys’ doubles, Maharjan duo Praful and Rukesh entered the final beating Pemba Sherpa and Priyansu Chhetri 21-10, 21-11. They will meet Myanmar’s pair of Ja Lin Thu and Thu Rin in the final.
