Lamichhane ends IPL debut season on high note, claims three MI wickets
Nepali leg spinner Sandeep Lamichhane ended his debut season in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on a high note as he claimed three wickets of the Mumbai Indians during the 55th match of the tournament played at Feroz Shah Kotla stadium in New Delhi, India on Sunday.

With the defeat, Mumbai Indians’ lost all hopes to qualify for the IPL 2018 playoffs.
For the home team, along with Lamichhane, Amit Mishra and Harshal Patel took three wickets each and Trent Boult claimed one.
Lamichhane, playing his third match for the Delhi Daredevils, was given the responsibility to open the bowling attack and he did not disappoint the team as he claimed the wicket of Surya Kumar Yadav in the fourth ball of the very first over. Yadav had battered Lamichhane’s three balls hitting a four, six and stealing another two runs before being caught by Vijay Shanker at long-on.
The DD team brought back Lamichhane in the tenth over and Nepali bowling sensation claimed two wickets.
Mumbai Indians’ Kieron Pollard hit hard Lamichhane’s delivery in 9.1 overs but Lamichhane’s teammates Glen Maxwell and Trent Boult displayed some sensational fielding at the long-off. Maxwell ran towards his left and took a reverse-cupped catch, but he was falling over so he threw the ball to Boult who was there in time for the assist.
Mumbai Indians’ Krunal Pandya was Lamichhane’s next victim in 9.4 overs. Pandya chipped Lamichhane’s delivery to cover which was caught by Tewatia.
Lamichhane ended his four over spell with 3wicktes giving 36 runs.
In his three match IPL stint, Lamichhane took a total of 5 wickets for the Delhi Daredevils. Earlier, in his debut match against the Royal Challengers Banglore on May 12, Lamichhane took 1-25. On Friday, Lamichhane took 1-21 against Chennai Super Kings.
