Nepali national team midfielder Jagjeet Shrestha has signed for Australian second-tier club Hume United FC. Hume United plays in the National Premier Leagues which acts as the second tier of the sport in the country below the A-League.
Shrestha has signed 18 months contract with the club. Yeti Football Club, a club formed by Nepalese in Melbourne, had aided Shrestha for the signing.
“I am delighted with the opportunity to play in the Australian second division,” Shrestha said to Kantipur. Shrestha will receive a monthly salary of $1,500 from the club.
Shrestha has won 33 caps for Nepal. He was playing for Lalitpur-based Three Star Club before signing for Hume United.
