Pandey century steers APF to final

APF will now square off against Nepalgunj in the championship match on Monday. Nepalgunj hammered Baitadi by seven wickets in the other semi-finals held at the Engineering ground at Pulchowk.
Electing to bat, APF put on a mammoth 245-1 riding on a superb knock from Pandey and an unbeaten 74 from opener Sita Rana Magar. Kathmandu crumbled against the accurate bowling of seamer Chhetri, who ended up with an enviable figures of 6-9 as they were bowled out for an embarassing 24-run total. Ritu Kanujiya also claimed three wickets for APF
Seven of the Kathmandu batswomen were dismissed without scoring their account with Rabina Bhandari (10) the only player to hit runs in double figures.
Earlier, a 194-run unfinished partnership between Pandey and Rana Magar propelled APF to a huge score. Pandey, who came in at 51-1 in 9.1 overs after the dismissal of Madhu Thapa (10), scored her century off 104 balls smashing 13 boundaries on the way to becoming fifth century maker of the tournament. Rana Magar added 74 runs including nine boundaries.
In Pulchowk, Trishna Singh completed a five-wicket haul as Nepalgunj bowled out Baitadi for 59 runs in 23.1 overs. None of the Baitadi batswomen could score runs in double figures with 22 extras conceded by Nepalgunj being the major contributor to the paltry total.
Chasing a paltry target, Nary top-scored with 28-ball 25 while opener Geeta Gosai (11) not out saw them safely surpass the total in 11 overs.
