An on-duty Assistant Police Constable Bishal Bali posted at Madanchowk in Kohalpur Municipality on the East-West Highway died on the spot while another on-duty Assistant Police Constable Lal Bahadur Budha Chhetri was injured after being hit by a jeep at midnight on Thursday.

 According to Narayan Dangi, spokesman of the district police office, Bali died before reaching the health facility, and Chhetri was airlifted to Kathmandu for further treatment after receiving initial treatment at Kohalpur Medical College. 

Further investigation regarding the accident is going on, said police.
