Siyari Rural Municipality handed over 14 houses to squatters and poor families on Thursday.
According to Thaneshwar Ghimire, chairman of the rural municipality, the houses were built and handed over after identifying and verifying needy families.
The houses were built from the budget of the rural municipality, and the cost of each house is Rs561,744.
The houses built and handed over by the rural municipality cannot be sold and distributed without the consent of the rural municipality.
A budget has been allocated to continue the housing programme in the coming days, said Ghimire.
