Three people died in two separate road accidents in Chitwan district on Saturday evening.

According to the Chitwan District Police Office, two people on a motorcycle died when a jeep hit the motorcycle in Madi in the southern area of the district.

Similarly, one person was killed when a motorcycle rammed into a utility pole in Khairahani in the eastern area.

A 34-year-old man, who was pillion riding, and the motorcyclist died after the jeep hit the motorcycle at Madi Municipality-1. A 54-year-old man, who was also riding the motorcycle, was also injured in the accident that happened at 7:30 pm on Saturday.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Bijay Raj Pandit, who is also the spokesperson for the Chitwan District Police Office, said the 34-year-old man was declared dead by doctors at Madi Baghauda Hospital.

Pandit said the motorcyclist died at Chitwan Medical College and Teaching Hospital on Saturday midnight while undergoing treatment.

Similarly, a 25-year-old man of Khairahani Municipality-2 died after a motorcycle rammed into a utility pole at Khairahani-10 at around 6:30 pm on Saturday. The man, who was seriously injured, died during treatment at the Chitwan Medical College.

DSP Pandit said the condition of a 24-year-old of the same municipality, riding the motorcycle, is serious.
