At least 8 dead as bus plunges into Trishuli river in Dhading
Thirteen people with serious injuries have been taken to Kathmandu for further treatment while other injured passengers are undergoing treatment at the Gajuri Hospital, according to the police.Poshnath Adhikari
At least 8 people died when a passenger bus plunged into the Trishuli River in Dhading district on Wednesday morning.
According to the police, the bus, operated by Dhaulagiri Yatayat and heading to Beni of Myagdi district from Kathmandu, veered off the road and plunged into the river near Gajuri along the Prithvi Highway.
District Police Office, Dhading Superintendent Gautam Mishra informed that so far bodies of eight passengers have been recovered from the incident site.
“Thirteen people with serious injuries have been taken to Kathmandu for further treatment while other injured passengers are undergoing treatment at the Gajuri Hospital,” said Mishra.
Senior police constable Surbir Bumi of the Area Police Office, Gajuri informed that police personnel have been mobilised for rescue.
Mishra said that the police are yet to ascertain the total number of passengers in the bus and details regarding the incident are yet to come.
