Khotang District Court has extended the custody of Madan Rai, who has been arrested on the charge of child sexual abuse, by seven days.

According to the police, the court, on Sunday, extended Rai’s remand, three days after his arrest, for further investigation into the charges.

Rai, an agricultural expert and the operator of the Shubhadra Madan Foundation in Diktel, was arrested by a team from Khotang District Police Office at noon on Friday.

Rai was arrested after videos of him forcing the female children of the institute to engage in sexual activities were posted on various platforms.
