Police have arrested agricultural expert Madan Rai on charge of child sexual abuse.

Rai, who is also the operator of the Shubhadra Madan Foundation in Diktel, was arrested by a team from Khotang District Police Office at noon on Friday, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Manjil Mukarung.

Rai has been accused of sexually assaulting female children at his institute.

As per a report by Setopati published on Thursday, Rai allegedly foul-mouthed the children and forced them to engage in inappropriate activities.
