Dahal meets Nadda at BJP headquarters
The Maoist chair is in Delhi since Friday on a three-day visit.Post Report
CPN (Maoist Centre) chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal met with Bharatiya Janata Party President Jagat Prakash Nadda in New Delhi on Sunday.
Dahal is currently in the Indian capital at the invitation of BJP President Nadda.
“Pushpa Kamal Dahal, chairperson of our party CPN (Maoist Centre) who is on his India visit, has held a meeting with BJP President Jagat Prakash Nadda at the Bharatiya Janata Party headquarters,” Rameh Malla, Dahal’s chief personal secretary wrote on Twitter. “Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar too was present in the meeting.”
Dahal reached Delhi on Friday on a three-day visit.
On Saturday, Dahal held talks with Jaishankar and India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.
Dahal left for India just two days after the departure of Liu Jianchao, the head of International Liaison Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, from Kathmandu.
The Chinese delegation led by Liu during their four-day visit to Kathmandu had called on President Bidya Devi Bhandari and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.
Liu also held extensive talks with Dahal and CPN (Unified Socialist) chair Madhav Nepal.
Dahal’s visit to Delhi at the invitation of Nadda has been described as an effort to build party-to-party relations between the Maoist Centre and the BJP.
Observers, however, have termed it political in nature given the way his meetings were planned in Delhi.
