Nepali folk-rock band Nepathya performed to a full house in Copenhagen on Saturday, nine years after their last appearance in Denmark.
The concert, part of their ongoing European tour, was held at Palaene Hall and attracted fans from across Europe, including Finland, Germany, Norway, Sweden and Belgium.
Tickets had sold out before the event, and by the time the doors opened an hour early, the hall was already filled with anticipation. The show began with visuals set to Sa Karnali, followed by the band’s opening song Koshiko Paani.
Over the next two hours, the audience joined in with cheering, clapping and singing along to familiar tunes.
Among those in attendance were Nepal’s Ambassador to Denmark, Sumnima Tuladhar, and former Danish envoy to Nepal, Gert Menke, who both noted the role of the event in bringing the diaspora community together.

Lead singer Amrit Gurung used the occasion to reflect on Kushe Aunsi, a festival in Nepal marking Father’s Day, encouraging the crowd to reach out to their families back home.
He also underlined the importance of language and culture for Nepalis living abroad.
The concert ended with Rato Ra Chandra Surya, with the hall joining in chorus. Gurung was supported by Dhruva Lama on drums, Subin Shakya on bass, Niraj Gurung on guitar, Shanti Rayamajhi on madal, and Dinesh Raj Regmi on keyboards.
The band is now in Malta for a show on August 27, before performing in Lisbon on August 31 and Antwerp on September 3.
