The Embassy of Nepal in Muscat, Oman, hosted a Nepal-Oman Friendship Hiking Programme on Saturday, aiming to deepen people-to-people ties while promoting physical wellness and environmental responsibility.
The hike began at 5:20 am from Riyam Park, passed through the historic Muttrah Fort, and concluded back at the starting point after a two-hour trek, according to a press note issued by the embassy.

A total of 46 participants joined the event, including Nepali Ambassador Dornath Aryal, Nadira Al Harthy, the first Omani woman to summit Mt Everest, embassy officials and their families, members of Nepali community organisations, Omani journalists, and popular social media influencers, the Embassy said.
The route featured colourful rock formations, water-filled streams, and diverse plant life, drawing admiration from the group.
In support of environmental responsibility, hikers also engaged in a clean-up initiative, collecting plastic waste along the trail and promoting sustainable outdoor practices.
At the conclusion, Ambassador Aryal thanked all participants and shared his appreciation for the natural beauty of the route, calling the experience both enriching and symbolic of growing Nepal-Oman friendship.
