PM Oli meets Cambodian counterpart, Maldivian President on SCO Summit sidelines
Leaders discuss strengthening bilateral ties, trade, investment and high-level visits.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, who is in Tianjin, China, for the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit, on Monday held bilateral meetings with Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet and Maldivian President Mohamed Muizzu.
The prime minister’s secretariat said the talks focused on strengthening bilateral relations, expanding trade and investment, and exchanging high-level visits.
Prime Minister Oli proposed enhanced collaboration between Nepal and the Maldives on climate resilience, particularly focusing on safety and sustainability ‘from the mountains to the sea,’ according to the prime minister’s secretariat.
Nepali Congress Vice-president Purna Bahadur Khadka; Education, Science and Technology Minister Raghuji Panta; Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister Badri Prasad Pandey; and the prime minister's economic and development advisor Yuba Raj Khatiwada; lawmaker Chhabilal Bishwakarma, and Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai were present during the meetings.

Earlier in the day, Oli met Laotian President Thongloun Sisoulith.
On Saturday, he held talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping, where he raised Nepal’s objection to the India-China agreement to reopen trade through Lipulekh, citing Nepal’s claim under the 1816 Sugauli Treaty. The two leaders also agreed to expand cooperation.
On Sunday, Oli met Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and discussed ways to boost cooperation in diplomatic, economic and cultural areas.
He later attended a reception hosted by Xi and First Lady Peng Liyuan for participating leaders, where he exchanged greetings with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The SCO and SCO Plus meetings, which began Sunday, bring together leaders from across Asia and beyond to discuss political, economic and security concerns.
