Eighth edition of NIFF to present 87 films from 40 countries

The 8th edition of the Nepal International Film Festival (NIFF) will feature 87 films selected from 687 submissions representing 40 countries. Among the highlights is the screening of Bhutan, the latest film by Bulbul director Binod Poudel.
Organised by the Nepal Film and Cultural Academy, the festival received over 600 entries from 70 countries, showcasing a diverse range of cinematic creativity. This year’s event, scheduled to take place from March 20 to 24, will include films developed with the assistance of artificial intelligence (AI) as part of the competition.
Screenings will be held at QFX Cinemas in Civil Mall and Chhaya Centre. Additionally, the festival will host several film-related sessions to engage and educate attendees.
The organisers have announced that the Gautam Buddha Award, which includes a cash prize of $1,500, will be presented to the Best Feature Film under the international competition category.
