Two individuals have lost their lives in separate incidents in Darchula and Jhapa districts.

In Darchula, 32-year-old Devaki Bhul of Dogadakedar Rural Municipality fell from a cliff on Thursday. Local said that she slipped while carrying harvested crops to a nearby storage area and fell approximately 100 metres, resulting in her death at the scene.

Devaki leaves behind two young sons, while her husband is currently working in Malaysia.

In Jhapa, 48-year-old Krishna Sharma was killed after being gored by an ox in ward 7 of Gauradaha Municipality.

The District Police Office, Jhapa said that Sharma was injured while attempting to move the tied-up ox on Thursday evening. He succumbed to his injuries during treatment at Lifeline Hospital in Damak, where he was referred after suffering seven broken ribs.

Police said that Sharma’s neighbour, 45-year-old Rabin Rajbanshi, who was injured in the incident, is receiving medical attention.
