A fire destroyed two houses and an animal shed in Karmitar in ward 4 of Dhankuta Municipality on Sunday.
According to the District Police Office in Dhankuta, the fire broke out from the animal shed belonging to Bishwabandhu Thapa.
The fire destroyed Thapa’s house and the house of his neighbour Kajiman Thapa. The security personnel and the locals doused the fire with the help of a fire truck after one hour.
Around 200 chickens and some goats were killed in the incident, said police.
