Two people got drowned at the confluence of Danab and Tinau rivers while participating in a ceremony to immerse the idol of the Goddess Durga during the Bada Dashain festival.
The deceased have been identified as Ajay Kumar Naun and Ajay Rajbhara of Kotahimai Rural Municipality-1 in the district, according to Rupandehi Police Chief Superintendent of Police Bharat Bahadur Bishwakarma.
Santa Kumar Rajbhar, 20, of the same locality, has gone missing in the river, and search efforts are underway.
