The party has also called a central committee meeting for August 22-24.
Jagannath Khatiwada, the party’s spokesperson, said both meetings will dwell on current political issues and formulate future strategies.
He added that the politburo meeting will make preparations for the central committee meeting and will take important decisions on the latest political issues.
The party is preparing to hold its general convention early next year.
