Two persons died in separate road accidents in Chitwan district on Monday night and Tuesday morning.

According to police, a 75-year-old man of ward 1 of Ratnanagar Municipality died after a cycle he was riding was hit by a bus at around 10am on Tuesday.

The man, who had sustained serious injuries in the mishap, breathed his last while undergoing treatment at Chitwan Medical College, Deputy Superintendent of Police Bijaya Raj Pandit at Chitwan District Police Office said.

Police have detained the bus driver, Milan Tamang, 24, of Makawanpur.

Likewise, a 24-year-old man died after a motorcycle crashed into a hillside at Chumlingtar in Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality-3.

The mishap happened after the motorcyclist from Dhading lost control of the vehicle at around 8:45pm, police said, adding the man died while undergoing treatment.
