At least four killed, two missing in separate landslides
Police and army personnel with the help of the locals have been searching for the missing.Post Report
At least four people died and two others went missing in separate landslide incidents in Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Parbat districts over the past two days.
A 32-year-old woman and her daughter were killed while her other two children went missing when a landslide buried their home at Koldanda village in Naukunda Rural Municipality, Rasuwa on Thursday.
Police said the incident occurred while the family was asleep.
Similarly, a 43-year-old man perished in a landslide at Lamachur in Belkotgadhi Municipality, Nuwakot. The victim was reportedly working in his kitchen garden when the landslide struck.
In Parbat district, a person died and two others were injured when a landslide buried two vehicles at Jaljala Rural Municipality on Wednesday evening.
Rajendra Adhikari, inspector at the District Police Office, said the two injured persons were taken to Beni Hospital in Myagdi district for treatment.
In a separate incident in Gorkha district, continuous landslides along a foot trail in Chumanubri Rural Municipality has killed at least 16 mules.
Police said the animals were returning from the Lokpa area after transporting food grains. There were no human casualties.
Prakash Dahal, deputy superintendent of District Police Office, said there has been continuous landslides in Chumanubri for the past four days.
