At least 14 houses have been completely destroyed in a fire at Kimri Village of Karmarong Rural Municipality-4 in Mugu district on Thursday.
The fire that started at around 9 am this morning has not been brought under control due to lack of water to douse the fire, said locals.
According to the locals, the fire started from the house of one Tshering Tashi Lama and it has destroyed 14 houses so far.
Chief District Officer Umakant Adhikari informed that a police team from Pul Police Beat has been deployed to the incident site, which is two days walk from the district headquarters, Gamgadi.
CDO Umakant, however, said that they are yet to ascertain the damage caused by the fire as the communication devices are not working properly.
