A 14-year-old boy was critically injured when an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) went off at Triyuga Municipality-13 in Udayapur district on Wednesday.
According to the District Police Office, Udayapur, Paras Rai, son of Man Kumar Rai, sustained serious shrapnel injuries in the explosion.
The IED kept in a bag exploded while Rai was trying to throw it away.
Critically injured in the incident, Rai was rushed to the Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences for treatment. It is not clear who planted the IED.
Police said that they are looking into the case.
An unidentified group had detonated an IED at a crusher industry at Triyuga-7 four days ago.
