Balaram Musahar, 18, a resident of Sarawal-7 in the district, sustained burn injuries after he was allegedly thrown into the brick kiln furnace in Dubauliya in the district.
The victim’s sister Sushila, who works at UBI Brick Kiln, said Balaram was thrown into the furnace following a dispute with owner Pramod Sah and manager Munsi Bhagawati Yadav.
Police said the victim, who sustained burn injuries on his legs and back, was sent to Bhairahawa Medical College for treatment. Balaram, who used to work at the kiln earlier, had come to meet his sister.
According to Sushila, there was a dispute between the victim and Yadav after the latter needled him over a certain issue. She claimed that Yadav and Sah had ordered some workers to throw him into the furnace.
“I cried for help. Some workers came and rescued my brother,” said Sushila, adding that the brick kiln owner had even asked the workers to kill Balaram, saying that he would “settle the case by spending Rs 200,000- Rs 400,000”.
Meanwhile, police have detained Yadav and two other workers in connection with the incident.
Superintendent of Police Rajendra Prasad Chaudhary said investigation is underway.
Krishnaman Shrestha, the district chairman of brink kiln association, however, said that it was not a murder attempt and false charges were being levelled against the arrestees.
