Nepse slips despite Thursday's rebound
Out of the traded companies, share prices of 86 advanced, while 163 declined.Post Report
The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index declined on Monday, failing to sustain the gains recorded in the previous trading session.
The benchmark index fell by 0.30 percent compared to Thursday’s close of 2,671.07, settling at 2,662.91. The market had remained closed on Sunday due to a public holiday.
A total of 19,616,395 shares of various companies were traded through 80,559 transactions, generating a turnover of Rs7.94 billion. The daily turnover dropped notably from Thursday’s Rs11.10 billion.
Out of the traded companies, share prices of 86 advanced, while 163 declined. The prices of nine companies remained unchanged, reflecting overall weakness in the market.
Among the 13 sub-indices, finance, hotels and tourism, and manufacturing and processing posted marginal gains. However, losses in the remaining sub-indices dragged the overall market lower, signalling continued volatility at the start of the weekly trading session.
