NEPSE surges past 2,700 with double-digit rise on Wednesday
Daily turnover climbs to Rs7.45 billion amid broad-based market gains

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index crossed the 2,700 mark on Wednesday, gaining 22.04 points to close at 2,705.07. The session marked a strong performance in the domestic equity market, driven largely by gains in the banking sector.
A total of 199 companies recorded an increase in share prices, while 49 saw a decline. Market capitalisation reached Rs4.508 trillion.
Trading activity also strengthened, with total turnover rising to Rs7.45 billion—up from Rs6.57 billion in the previous session.
The banking sector led the rally, advancing by 1.68 percent, followed by investment companies, which rose by 1.37 percent.
Finance was the only sector to close in negative territory, edging down by 0.38 percent.
