Thailand is on the brink of becoming the ultimate destination for the LGBTQIA+ community, thanks to its welcoming environment and the recent launch of the Pink Plus Economy initiative.
This revolutionary move, announced on June 9 by Borderless.lgbt, aims to create a supportive ecosystem for LGBTQIA+ individuals in Thailand, encompassing living, family planning, and retirement.
According to the reports, Thailand Privilege, a state-owned enterprise dedicated to long-term visas, backs the initiative.
The support for the Pink Plus Economy is bolstered by Thailand’s National Legislative Assembly’s recent legalisation of same-sex marriage and upcoming policies favouring LGBTQIA+ family planning.
If the legislation is approved by the Senate, Thailand will join Taiwan and Nepal as the only Asian nations to permit same-sex marriage.
According to the report, Thailand is ready to welcome more than 200 million LGBTQIA individuals from around the world to wed, live, play, innovate, plan a family and retire in the country.
Borderless.lgbt, supported by Thailand Privilege, will offer a series of "Pink Plus" membership packages with multi-merchant offerings, including a Thailand Privilege card, a state-of-the-art immersive telemedicine platform with renowned medical experts, shopping vouchers, retirement living programmes and pink tech innovation workshops.
Other facilities are family wellness support, dedicated financial planning services, home buying/leasing support and exclusive resort staycations, which will be rolled out for distribution via global resellers.
“We are very excited to be part of the journey of how Thailand transforms itself to be a global Diversity, Equality and Inclusion (DE&I) hub. Living in Thailand can now come with inclusive lifestyle, wellness and innovation,” says Manatase Annawat, president of Thailand Privilege.
Interested resellers can apply to undertake a training course at www.borderless.lgbt. The successful trainee who passes the training and DE&I assessment will be awarded a certificate of attendance which will entitle him/her the right to distribute selected "Pink Plus" packages in accordance with the assessment scores.
A high-tech call centre with a soundproof concierge suite is also established in the heart of the trendiest precinct, Thonglor, in cosmopolitan Bangkok to serve the “Pink Plus” members.
