TOEFL test to take less than two hours to complete from July-end
The registration process will also be simplified.Post Report
ETS announced last week that test takers could expect a shortened TOEFL iBT test for administrations and an increased score transparency beginning July 26 along with a simplified registration process from July.
“The test, which takes three hours, will take less than two hours to complete,” ETS said in a statement. Amit Sevak, CEO of ETS, said that ETS was driving the future of assessment through product innovations across education and learning, and TOEFL was core to that effort.
“TOEFL has been an industry standard for nearly six decades, and these enhancements further underscore its position,” said Sevak. “Most importantly, these enhancements were developed through the lens of our customers and stakeholders.” The test takers who had already registered for a TOEFL iBT test were provided an option to reschedule their test date for free until April 30 via their TOEFL account, ETS said in a statement.
“The updated versions of the TOEFL iBT Free Practice Test and TOEFL iBT Practice Sets have been made available on the TOEFL website and additional free and paid test prep options would be updated to reflect the changes in the coming weeks.” (PR)
