Prominent artist Rimal no more

He was 92.
Rimal's body is now being kept at the residence for final tribute and his last rites would be performed at Pashupati Aryaghat today itself, informed cine film director Samrat Sapkota.
Rimal, who performed acting in 'Mukunda Indira' – a drama penned by noted playwright the late Bal Krishna Sama – at the age of 14, had made his debut in film career from Nepali movie "Aama'.
In addition, he was recognized the first singer after he gave voice to a song titled 'Mero Dil Tukra Tukra' aired by the Radio Nepal in 2007 BS. Dozens of songs including 'Bina Baadal Asina Jharyo' and 'Fagat Ek Nazarma' are his all-time hit songs.
Born in September 20, 1925 at Lagantole, Kathmandu, Rimal had remarkable contributions to Nepali film and art arena. He was also honoured with 'Kirtimaya Dirgha Samman' – a lifetime achievement honour. He is survived by two sons and a daughter. RSS
