Visiting Chinese minister meets with party leaders
China’s Vice Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee Guo Yezhou has held separate meetings with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli,China’s Vice Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee Guo Yezhou has held separate meetings with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and congratulated the leaders on successfully holding the three tiers of election and formation of the new government.
The Guo-led Chinese delegation met with PM Oli on Monday and expressed Beijing’s desire to work closely with his government.
Chairman Dahal told the visiting Chinese officials that the agreed merger between the CPN-UML and the CPN (Maoist Centre) was for political stability, development and prosperity in the country, according to a statement issued by Dahal’s secretariat.
Vice Minister Yezhou congratulated Dahal on unification between the two parties and said that the merger could do a lot for political stability and development in Nepal.
Expressing his belief that agreements signed with the Chinese government in the past would come into force, he pledged Chinese support to the unified party. Guo said that the Chinese government’s support to Nepal’s stability, prosperity and development would continue in future while the area of cooperation would also be expanded.
The delegation presented to Dahal a book by Chinese President Xi Jinping entitled ‘The Governance of China-2’.
The CPC delegation said in a statement that the Chinese side stands ready to make concerted efforts in advancing practical cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative.
