88 parties register for participation in proportional representation election

Eighty-eight political parties have applied at the Election Commission to contest in the proportional representation (PR) system of election to the House of Representatives and the State Assembly.
The political parties had been given ten days (till today) for the registration from last Sunday. The government has announced to hold the election of the House of Representatives on November 21 and of the provincial parliaments on December 7.
According to EC sources, among the parties registered in the EC for Federal and Provincial elections, Madhes Tarai Forum, Madhes Samata Party and Nepali Greens Party failed to apply for proportional election. RSS
