A taskforce on Thursday submitted its report on the Bill to Amend and Integrate Laws Related to Labour to the International Relations and Labour Committee of Parliament.
The House committee will study the report during its next meeting slated for Sunday, said Prabhu Saha, chairman of the committee who also headed the taskforce.
Lawmaker Bharat Khadka, a member of the taskforce, underscored the need of endorsing the bill from Parliament before May 14 local level elections.
However, lawmaker Pemba Lama expressed his discontent, saying the report was prepared without holding consultations with those parliamentarians who had sought amendment to the bill.
Laxman Mainali, secretary at the Ministry of Labour and Employment, said that the bill would be amended to make labour laws investment- and worker-friendly.
The bill will also take into account the international agreements and treaties Nepal is signatory to, Secretary Mainali said.
The Committee had received the bill on October 23 last year and started clause-wise deliberations on it from January 26.
