Nepal bags two awards in int’l robotics competition

The international robot contest is held annually between undergraduate students from engineering colleges of Asia Pacific region. This year 19 teams from 18 countries including China, Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, South Korea, Russia, Egypt, India, Thailand, India, Iran, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Mongolia, Malaysia, Egypt, Hong Kong, Fiji and two teams from host Indonesia participated in the event.
Team Nepal was awarded Mabuchi Motor Award and Best Idea Award. In the competition, robots played badminton based on actual rules of the game. Though Nepal lost to China (5-3) and Iran (5-2), the hard work put by the students was rewarded based on their unique innovation despite limited resources.
