Rajendra Chhetri new CoAS from Sept 10
The Cabinet on Thursday promoted Lieutenant Rajendra Chhetri to the post of Army Chief with effect from September 10.

The Cabinet on Thursday promoted Lieutenant Rajendra Chhetri to the post of Army Chief with effect from September 10.
Incumbent Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) Gaurav Shumsher JB Rana is retiring on September 10. Rana is currently on a customary month-long leave before his retirement.
Earlier, government had vested Chhetri with the responsibility of acting army chief.
