Lawmakers seek action against Minister Parajuli
Lawmakers of UCPN (M) have demanded clarification from the govt regarding the behavior of Agriculture Minister Hari Prasad Parajuli during the Asar Pandra celebrations.Ekantipur Report
Agriculture Minister Parajuli has been facing criticisms from several quarters and social networking sites including his own party members after photos depicting his misbehaviour with female participants during the Asar Pandra celebrations surfaced in the social media.
Asar Pandra or 15th of the Nepali month of Ashad is marked a National Paddy Day.
After the news went viral on social media, users have criticised the indecent behaviour of the minister asking for immediate action against him.

The UCPN (M) lawmakers said that Minister Parajuli acted against social decorum and virtue terming the minister’s behaviour as indecent and vulgar.
Likewise, Nepal Workers and Peasants Party leader Anuradha Thapa has demanded action against Minister Parajuli as per the law.
If charges are proven, Minister Parajuli can face a jail time of six months and a fine of Rs 50, 000 as per the Sexual Harassment at Workplace (elimination) Act, 2071 BS, said advocate Mira Dhungana, .
Meanwhile, CPN-UML leader Ram Kumari Jhankri terming her party’s Minister’s behavior as ‘indecent and undignified’ challenged party chairman KP Sharma Oli to take action against the "unruly minister." Talking to an online news portal Jhankri said, “He (Oli) is efficient in sacking ministers from the party. I hope we won’t need to exert pressure on him regarding this serious matter.”
