Shree Ram Pandey, Chief of the Kaligandaki A, said the power production has resumed after the Project's reservoir situated at Mirmi in Syanga district was thoroughly filled with water.

"Since the reservoir now has the stock of some 140 cubic centi metres of water, we decided to resume the power production," shared Project Chief Pandey.

The Hydel Project had halted the production of power following a landslide, occurred at Kafaldanda, Ramche-9 in Myagdi district, that clogged the water flow of the Kaligandaki river. "It was to curb the untoward accidents," added Pandey.

The 144-mega watt hydro project is currently yielding some 120 mega watt of electricity.

Similarly, Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya, Regional Administrator of the Western Region, shared that the water flow of Kaligandaki was normal. "Hence, no further problem is expected to appear during the production of the power," confided Thapaliya.

The Hydel project, located some 100 kilometres west to Pokhara, came into operation in 2011.
