Dahal must have lied one thousand times and subsequently corrected them in the last nine years after he came to the political mainstream. “This has become Dahal’s habit, therefore these things can be considered to forgive him.”

“Dahal wanted to execute us during the revolution but failed. Now he has come to hug us and we want to take him together with us,” Bhattarai said.

Bhattarai, also the chief of UML’s publicity department, praised his own party for its tough position. “Our party is tough because we have stood against the ‘One Madhes, One State’ proposal in the name of federalism and also against the ethnicity based states that will only fuel disharmony among various ethnic groups.”

Similarly, leader Bhattarai mentioned that UML would never forge agreements that will be detrimental to national interests but would resort to war instead. “Our chairman [KP Sharma Oli] also laid his special emphasis on this issue, and all the leaders and cadres of the party also must stick to it,” Bhattarai added.
