Nepal reports 229 new Covid-19 cases

Nepal on Friday reported 161 new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 981,142.
Similarly, 68 people tested positive in a total of 2,074 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Friday, 5,782,344 PCR and 1,248,726 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 1,644 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
The country did not report any Covid-19 related death in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry. The countrywide death toll has reached 11,952 since the pandemic began.
According to the ministry, 967,906 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 48 of them in the last 24 hours. The number of active cases stands at 1,284.
In the past 24 hours, 22 new infections were reported in Province 1, 12 in Madhes Province, 100 in Bagmati, 17 in Gandaki, seven in Lumbini, one in Karnali and two in Sudurpaschim.
Nepal on Thursday reported 214 new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases. Similarly, 177 new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases were recorded on Wednesday and 144 new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases were reported on Tuesday.
