Nepal logs 224 new Covid-19 cases
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,949 and the number of active cases stands at 5,692.Post Report
Nepal on Wednesday reported 68 new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 977,709.
Similarly, 156 people tested positive in a total of 3,156 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Wednesday, 5,462,794 PCR and 1,085,317 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 6,936 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
The country reported no Covid-19 related death in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry. The countrywide death toll has reached 11,949 since the pandemic began.
According to the ministry, 960,068 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 251 of them in the last 24 hours. The number of active cases stands at 5,692.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 32 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 29 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu and three in Lalitpur.
In the past 24 hours, eight new infections were recorded in Province 1, one in Madhesh Pradesh, 38 in Bagmati, 11 in Gandaki, six in Lumbini, and two each in Karnali and Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, 10 districts are home to more than 200 active cases each.
On Wednesday, 39 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another five-four in Bagmati province and one in Province 1, were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Tuesday reported 74 new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases and one death. Similarly, 66 new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases and one death was reported on Monday and 54 new PCR confirmed coronavirus cases and two deaths were reported on Sunday.
