Nepal reports 260 new Covid-19 cases, two deaths
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,471 and the number of active cases stands at 7,278.Post Report
Nepal on Saturday reported 260 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 816,675.
Similarly, 35 people tested positive in a total of 3,018 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Friday, 4,498,513 PCR and 693,276 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 5,225 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported two Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,471. The number of active cases stands at 7,278.
According to the ministry, 797,926 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 478 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 118 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 79 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 33 in Lalitpur and six in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 54 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 12 in Province 2, 129 in Bagmati, 33 in Gandaki, 18 in Lumbini, five in Karnali and nine in Sudurpaschim.
On Saturday, 193 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 57—15 in Province 1, 37 in Bagmati, two in Gandaki, one in Lumbini and two in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Friday reported 355 new coronavirus cases and three deaths. Similarly, 301 new coronavirus cases and six deaths were recorded on Thursday and 387 new coronavirus cases and six deaths were reported on Wednesday.
