Nepal reports 301 new Covid-19 cases, six deaths
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,466 and the number of active cases stands at 7,535.Post Report
Nepal on Thursday reported 301 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 816,060.
Similarly, 16 people tested positive in a total of 3,044 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Thursday, 4,484,154 PCR and 688,326 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 9,609 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported six Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,466. The number of active cases stands at 7,535.
According to the ministry, 797,059 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 279 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 153 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 110 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 36 in Lalitpur and seven in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 20 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 14 in Province 2, 184 in Bagmati, 40 in Gandaki, 31 in Lumbini, four in Karnali and eight in Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, one district is home to more than 500 active cases each; 10 other districts host more than 200 active cases each while Mugu and Humla districts have zero active cases.
On Thursday, 188 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 54—10 in Province 1, one in Province 2, 37 in Bagmati, two each in Gandaki and Lumbini, and two in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Wednesday reported 387 new coronavirus cases and six deaths. Similarly, 443 new coronavirus cases and one death was reported on Tuesday and 371 new coronavirus cases and five deaths were reported on Monday.
