With 2,456 new cases, Nepal’s Covid-19 tally reaches 737,294
The Health Ministry reports 27 new deaths including figures from the past few days based on statistics from the Nepal Army.Post Report
Nepal on Tuesday reported 2,456 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 737,294.
Similarly, 818 people tested positive in a total of 6,124 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Tuesday, 3,779,230 PCR and 407,495 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 11,565 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported 27 Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 10,354. The number of active cases stands at 39,871.
According to the ministry, 687,069 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 1,929 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 1,033 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 673 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 219 in Lalitpur and 141 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 383 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 37 in Province 2, 1,315 in Bagmati, 460 in Gandaki, 182 in Lumbini, 46 in Karnali and 33 in Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, 21 districts are home to more than 500 active cases each and 18 other districts host more than 200 active cases each.
On Tuesday, 790 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 191—53 in Province 1, 119 in Bagmati, six in Gandaki, 10 in Lumbini and three in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Monday reported 2, 566 new coronavirus cases and 35 deaths. Similarly, 1,793 new coronavirus cases and 33 new deaths were reported on Sunday and 1,947 new coronavirus cases and 20 deaths were recorded on Saturday.
