With 1,353 new cases, Nepal’s Covid-19 tally reaches 654,212
The Health Ministry reports 22 new deaths including figures from the past few days based on statistics from the Nepal Army.Post Report
Nepal on Saturday reported 1,353 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 654,212.
Similarly, 816 people tested positive in a total of 3,887 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Saturday, 3,409,940 PCR and 231,094 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 6,530 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported 22 Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 9,362. The number of active cases stands at 26,412
According to the ministry, 618, 361 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 1,432 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu valley recorded 414 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 303 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 60 in Lalitpur and 51 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 349 new infections were reported in province 1, 28 in Province 2, 611 in Bagmati, 254 in Gandaki, 37 in Lumbini, 22 in Karnali and 52 in Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, nine districts are home to more than 500 active cases each and 24 other districts host more than 200 active cases each.
On Saturday, 543 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 155—33 in Province 1, one in Province 2,17 in Bagmati, 11 in Gandaki, eight in Lumbini, two in Karnali and three in Sudurpaschim – were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Friday reported 1,479 new coronavirus cases and 20 deaths. Similarly, 1,218 new coronavirus cases and 20 deaths were recorded on Thursday and 2,077 new coronavirus cases and 28 deaths were reported on Wednesday.
