With 1,721 new cases, Nepal's Covid-19 tally reaches 631,152

Nepal on Friday reported 1,721 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 631,152.
Similarly, 755 people tested positive in a total of 4,765 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Friday, 3,312,335 PCR and 166,307 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 9,586 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported 27 Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 8,945. The number of active cases stands at 45,794.
According to the ministry, 576,413 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 5,455 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 427 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 308 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 76 in Lalitpur and 43 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 303 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 76 in Province 2, 612 in Bagmati, 532 in Gandaki, 130 in Lumbini and 34 each in Karnali and Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, 31 districts are home to more than 500 active cases each and 24 other districts host more than 200 active cases each.
On Friday, 714 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 201—28 in Province 1, one in Province 2, 133 in Bagmati, 19 in Gandaki, 13 in Lumbini, one in Karnali and six in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Thursday reported 1,574 new coronavirus cases and 24 deaths. Similarly, 1,511 new coronavirus cases and 81 deaths were recorded on Wednesday and 3,703 new coronavirus cases and 41 deaths were reported on Tuesday.
