With 3,370 new cases, Nepal's Covid-19 tally reaches 591,494

Nepal on Monday reported 3,370 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 591,494.
Similarly, 1,102 people tested positive in a total of 5,901 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Monday, 3,155,064 PCR and 75,852 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 12,002 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported 92 Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 7,990. The number of active cases stands at 85,544.
According to the ministry, 497,960 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 6,951 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 1,115 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 790 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 190 in Lalitpur and 135 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 508 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 210 in Province 2, 1,738 in Bagmati, 381 in Gandaki, 326 in Lumbini, 144 in Karnali and 63 in Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, 47 districts are home to more than 500 active cases each and other 13 districts host more than 200 active cases each.
On Monday, 1,434 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 397—35 in Province 1, 22 in Province 2, 266 in Bagmati, 36 in Gandaki, 23 in Lumbini, 10 in Karnali and five in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Sunday reported 3,024 new coronavirus cases and 99 fatalities. Similarly, 3,540 new coronavirus cases and 68 fatalities were recorded on Saturday and 4,624 new cases and 101 Covid-19 related deaths were reported on Friday.
