National Covid-19 tally reaches 275,310 with 79 new infections

Nepal did not record any Covid-19 related deaths in the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Population said on Monday.
The country’s overall death toll due to the Covid-19 related complications stands at 3,014.
In the past 24 hours, the ministry said, the country recorded 79 new coronavirus infections, pushing the overall infection number to 275,310.
According to the ministry, 271,401 infected people have recovered from the disease so far, 75 of them in the past 24 hours.
The active case count stands at 895.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 41 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 27 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 10 in Lalitpur and four in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 46 new infections were recorded in Bagmati Province, 15 in Gandaki, 10 in Lumbini, six in Province 1, and one each in Karnali and Sudurpaschim.
As of Monday, 2,218,722 PCR tests have been carried out across the country. A total of 3,311 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.
Nepal recorded 53 new coronavirus infections on Sunday. Similarly, two Covid-19 related fatalities and 60 new cases were recorded on Saturday and 48 new infections were reported in the country on Friday.
